A doctor could very well prescribe it. An 18 year old is an adult and therefore it should not be a problem. You may find that after using a half to a quarter tab a few times, the anxiety will pass and you'll perform fine without it.
Definitely "discuss with your doctor." Don't be embarrassed to ask, they've heard it all before and you're not the first one to explore this solution.

My 20 yr old cousin had a similar problem. Viagra helped him to get past the initial anxiety.
