Sildenafil is a potent and selective inhibitor of cGMP specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) which is responsible for degradation of cGMP in the corpus cavernosum. This means that, with Viagra, normal sexual stimulation leads to increased levels of cGMP in the corpus cavernosum which leads to better erections. Without sexual stimulation and no activation of the NO/cGMP system, Viagra should not cause an erection.

Why cant i maintain an erection?

Okay so me and my girlfriend have been dating for a couple of months, we have always just fore played and made out. i had fine erections the whole time, which could be like an hour or two. now recently we stepped up and she will like grab it and jerk me while i finger her.
