It will affect their heart. My mothers friends dog is taking some currently just for his congestive heart failure, the vet prescribed it just to strengthen its heart.
For that same reason is why they tell men to make sure their heart's in good shape before going on it.
Giving them too much would probably kill them though, the dog mentioned abobe only takes 1/4 a tablet a day.
